We specialise in the development of FlexGen/Cobol based systems, and the project management of large complex IT projects.
The company has been in operation since May 1991. All of our staff are graduate computer scientists, all of whom are well skilled in FlexGen, Microsoft products, Cobol, and UNIX based systems. ProGen also uses an established base of contractors to supplement the programming resources when required. All the contractors have been trained by ProGen in FlexGen.
Since 1998, we have migrated the main company emphasis towards the provision of management and administration software for the education sector. ProGen provides software development, support and training to the schools. We currently have our software installed at 162 sites throughout the Eastern & Western Provinces of South Africa.
Our software could be used in any education environment from pre-primary to tertiary level. Whilst our primary role, to date, has been to service the South African market, we see the software fitting into most educational systems as there is a large degree of similarity in the management and administrative functions throughout the world. Our software is unique in that it has been designed to operate in the language of choice of the user.
